Richard Sherman puts Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb on blast

Former Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman was a five-time Pro Bowler, so he knows a thing or two about elite receivers.

During a recent episode of “Undisputed,” Sherman seemingly put Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb on blast, stating he’s not a legitimate No. 1 receiver and arguing that Lamb is overrated and falls more along the lines of being a “fringe No. 1” in the same category as players like Jaylen Waddle, Garrett Wilson, Tyler Lockett, Tee Higgins and Brandon Aiyuk — and not with the likes of Justin Jefferson.

“If you think he’s a bona-fide, lining up out there at [No.] 1? Then, yeah, that’s overrated,” Sherman continued. “So you’re saying he’s in a conversation with Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, Ja’Marr Chase, Stefon Diggs, A.J. Brown, Cooper Kupp, Deebo Samuel, Terry McLaurin and Mike Evans? Then you’re not watching it.”

Sherman's sentiments seem to be shared by several other former players as well.

Sherman opposed Skip Bayless’s argument that Lamb belongs in the same tier as some of the league’s elite pass catchers, stating Lamb — and the Cowboys — would be better off if they still had still had Amari Cooper lining up on the opposite side.

"If you had Amari Cooper, what would this team look like? They'd look really good," Sherman said. "[Lamb] would probably have 1,500 yards per season, and Amari would have 1,500 yards because you can't focus on either of them.”

Cooper and Lamb played together for two seasons in Dallas before he was shipped to the Browns in 2022, combining for 465 targets, 313 receptions, 4,016 yards and 24 touchdowns.

In his first year without Cooper, Lamb registered 109 receptions, 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns while Cooper had a solid first year in Cleveland, logging 1,160 yards and nine touchdowns.
