Steelers re-sign safety Terrell Edmunds to one-year contract

Terrell Edmunds' four-year anniversary of being selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 28th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft is on Tuesday. On Monday, the team officially re-signed the safety to a contract that will keep him in black and gold for at least one more year.

"Terrell is a great player. I love playing with him," two-time Pro Bowler Minkah Fitzpatrick said, per Teresa Varley of Steelers.com. "I think we are a great one-two punch. The both of us help each other. It allows us to be more instinctual. We take a little bit off each other's plate. He's a guy I love playing with. He's awesome in the locker room. He is definitely growing and is going to keep getting better."

Edmunds played and started in all 17 games for the Steelers in 2021, finishing tied for second in interceptions (two), tied for third in tackles (89) and tied for third in passes defended (six). Edmunds recorded a career-high eight tackles for loss last season and picked up his third career sack as well.

The Virginia Tech product has missed just one contest through the first four seasons of his NFL career. Edmunds played on a career-high 1,145 defensive snaps (98%) in 2021.

In 64 career regular season games (60 starts), Edmunds has recorded 340 tackles, 21 passes defended and five interceptions.
