No timetable for 49ers CEO to meet with media to discuss team

San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York briefly gathered with the local media at Friday’s practice,  the San Francisco Chronicle said.

The subject of the impromptu gathering? When he was going to have an actual meeting with the media.

Per the San Jose Mercury News, York told reporters that “we'll talk at some point” and that his reason for not meeting with them sooner is that he doesn’t like holding pressers about team business  “while the team is still fighting.”

York has widely come under scrutiny over the past season-and-a-half or so—not just because the Niners (2-5) have been playing poorly, but because of reports of ill will among players pouring out of the Levi's Stadium walls over the last couple of weeks.

The issue of his whereabouts came to a head when he was nowhere to be found after the Niners painful 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football. He continued to keep a low profile when reports that Colin Kaepernick was alienated from the rest of the team began to swarm.

Whispers that Kaepernick’s relationship with Aldon Smith’s ex-girlfriendwas affecting the locker room? No appearance from York. Talk of analtercation between Vernon Davis and Joe Staley? No word from the York camp.

All of this has, in turn, fueled discussions that the downward-spiraling Niners are a product of York’s doing.

There has reportedly not been a date set for when this formal meeting between York and the media will take place.
