Three potential landing spots for CB Marcus Peters

After suffering a torn ACL and missing the 2021 season with the Ravens, he returned last season for Baltimore, starting 13 games and recording 47 tackles and one interception.

Here are three teams who should strongly consider signing the eight-year veteran.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders' passing defense was anemic last season, ranking 29th in passing yards allowed. Las Vegas must find a replacement for CB Rock Ya-Sin, who signed with Baltimore in free agency. Peters could solidify the secondary and serve as a mentor for third-year CB Nate Hobbs.  

Per The Athletic's Vic Tafur, Peters visited Las Vegas on Monday, so the interest is mutual.

Per Spotrac, Peters' market value is a two-year deal worth $9.8M annually. The Raiders only have $4.5M in cap space, but they can create room to accommodate a deal.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings pass defense ranked 31st in yards allowed last season, contributing to another playoff disappointment. In Minnesota's 31-24 loss in the wild-card round last season, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 301 yards and two TDs.

The Vikings' best CB, eight-time Pro Bowler Patrick Peterson, signed with the Steelers in free agency. It makes sense for Minnesota to sign Peters as his replacement to bolster the secondary.

The Vikings have $11.1M in cap room, enough to accommodate Peters.

Detroit Lions

The Lions could strengthen their chances to win their first NFC North title since 1993 if they improve their defense. Detroit went 9-8 last season, but it finished 30th in passing yards allowed, a key reason it missed the playoffs.

In the offseason, the Lions traded CB Jeff Okudah, a former first-round pick, to Atlanta. CB Emmanuel Moseley is recovering from a left ACL tear he suffered last season. Peters could provide needed secondary depth.

The Lions are third in cap space ($26.2M), so cost is of little concern.
