It appears three-time Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley is a fan of the adage that teaches patience is a virtue.
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell told reporters last week the club was speaking with Gurley and the back's agent about a potential deal after the 26-year-old worked out with the Lions and reportedly had a physical. No contract was signed, however, and reports emerged Thursday Gurley was visiting with the Baltimore Ravens.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, Gurley had a "good" meeting with the Ravens but remains a free agent ahead of the weekend.
I'm told free agent RB Todd Gurley had a good meeting with the #Ravens and left without a deal, at this time, per source. Gurley visited recently with the #Lions as well. One source said today, "I'm assuming he's looking for best offer."

Per Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit, Campbell said on Thursday he was "not sweating" Gurley's Baltimore visit.
"Do we like the kid? Yes, we do. But we’re—hey, if it works, it works. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t. But it’ll be on our terms," he explained.
Detroit already has free-agent acquisition and presumed lead back Jamaal Williams and 2020 rookie D'Andre Swift on the depth chart, so the Lions shouldn't be in a hurry to pay anything more than their set value for a ball-carrier who may be past his physical prime.
