Watch: ‘Agitated’ Chris Jones gets into an intense argument on the sidelines with DL coach Joe Cullen
Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

It was another frustrating day for the Kansas City Chiefs as they lost against their arch-rivals Buffalo Bills in a highly-contested game of the week 14. Despite suffering multiple ups and downs, the Bills managed to secure the winning score in the fourth quarter.

With the much-needed win against the Chiefs, the Bills moved on to a 7-6 record after 13 games. On the other hand, the Chiefs suffered their fifth defeat of the season. After 13 games, they are staying at an 8-5 record. Both teams have four games to go.

Apart from the disappointing result, the attitude of the Chiefs tackle Chris Jones hit the air. He was seen frustrated and arguing with the defensive line coach Joe Cullen after the team’s loss. At first, the DT was seen saying something rowdy to the coach. The coach, on the other hand, was seen spreading his hands with disgust. Both had a momentary tiff. After that, it all became normal.

The attitude of the Chiefs’ DT has been a problem since the very beginning of the league. He had a contract issue which later got dissolved. However, at this moment, when the league is at its most crucial stage, the attitude could raise a lot of concern.

The Chiefs are not in their usual rhythm this season. Though they are still standing tall in the AFC West Division, the five defeats have already cost them a lot. It is to be seen how head coach Andy Reid fixes things.

The Chiefs missed the service of Chris Jones at the start of the season

The Chiefs suffered a DT problem at the very beginning of the ongoing season. The management had a big tussle with Chris Jones. The DT asked for a hike in his contract, which the management was unwilling to provide. As a result, the Chiefs saw the absence of Jones from the team’s practice.

Things went so badly that head coach Reid openly admitted that he had no idea about whether the DT would continue in the season. He was asked by the press and he had just one answer: “I don’t know.”

The speculations of Jones leaving the Chiefs went high when he missed the first game of the season against the Lions. However, things resolved quickly as the management and the DT discussed things and the latter received a hike in salary. He came back to the next game and since then has played in almost every game.
