Watch: Eagles punter, Giants linebacker share a painfully awkward embrace

New York Giants linebacker Cam Brown was seemingly aware of the surge in personal foul penalties that have been called by NFL officials.

So when he made contact with Philadelphia Eagles punter Braden Mann after trying to block a punt during Sunday's NFC East clash, Brown did his best to ensure that he didn’t draw a flag for running into the kicker, leading to one of the more amusing moments of the NFL season.

Brown collided with Mann after the ball left his foot, but had the wherewithal to grab hold of the 26-year-old punter, who appeared ready to flop backward and put on one heck of an acting job in hopes of coaxing an official to throw a flag.

Brown held a dead-weighting Mann in his arms and awkwardly walked him toward the end zone for a few yards before standing him upright in front of an official to show that no roughing penalty was necessary.

No flag was thrown and the Giants began their next drive with favorable field position. They subsequently drove 55 yards in six plays before taking a 17-0 lead on a Saquon Barkley three-yard rushing touchdown.
