Watch: Rams Inch Closer as Stafford Hits Tutu Atwell With Laser Beam Throw For TD
Junfu Han-USA TODAY NETWORK

The Los Angeles Rams have been playing from behind from their first offensive possession of their Sunday Night Football Wild Card matchup with the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

But just a few minutes before the half, and the Lions down two scores, quarterback Matthew Stafford came in clutch once again.

This time, Stafford hit Tutu Atwell with a throw on a rope for a 38-yard score, cutting the Lions lead down to 21-17.

Thus far, Stafford has been battling through pain after taking a hit on his hand from a Lions defensive lineman that led to a cut on the knuckle of his throwing hand.

Nevertheless, Stafford has been dealing, completing 11 of 15 passes for 189 yards and two scores with a 154.9 QB rating. And he has done so without the help of the running game, which has totaled just 16 yards on six carries.

Stafford has already completed passes to seven different receivers in the first half, including five for 106 yards and a touchdown to star rookie Puka Nacua

Jared Goff has been just as good on the other side, however, completing a whopping 15 of 16 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown, while David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs have each added a rushing score to keep the Lions in front.
