WR Robert Woods celebrates release from Titans with one-word tweet

The Tennessee Titans released kicker Randy Bullock, wide receiver Robert Woods and three-time Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan on Wednesday.

The money-saving moves weren't unexpected yet resulted in very different reactions from the latter two players on Twitter.

Woods' tweets are particularly interesting, given that he's more likely than Lewan to find his way onto a new team this offseason. Though he'll only be turning 32 in July, Lewan has suffered two ACL tears in the last three years and said recently that he's been thinking about retirement.

The former Los Angeles Rams wideout dealt with his own torn ACL midway through the 2021 and was acquired in a trade in March 2022. Woods played in all 17 games this past season but posted just 53 receptions for a career-low 527 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while his 58.2% catch percentage was his worst since his 2013 rookie season.

The combination of Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis certainly didn't help the cause of "Bobby Trees," but with the ascension of 2022 18th overall pick Treylon Burks in the wide receivers room, it was clear that Woods' days in Tennessee were numbered.

A 2013 draft pick of the Buffalo Bills, Woods will be 31 in April and has the recent ACL injury working against him. His back-to-back campaigns of over 1,000 receiving yards in 2018 and 2019 aren't too far in the past, though, and he shouldn't have trouble finding a new employer this offseason.
