Blackhawks Recall Anton Khudobin After Petr Mrazek's Injury
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Hawks will turn to Khudobin and Alex Stalock as their goalie duo for the time being.

Prior to embarking on a five-game road trip, the Chicago Blackhawks needed some goalie depth. Petr Mrazek is dealing with a groin injury, so the Blackhawks recalled Anton Khudobin from the Rockford IceHogs on Wednesday.

Mrazek started Tuesday's game against the Boston Bruins and made 16 saves but exited in the second period after tweaking his groin. Head coach Luke Richardson said Mrazek would not be with the Blackhawks to start the upcoming road swing but could join the team at some point during it.

As a result, the Blackhawks will turn to Khudobin and Alex Stalock as their goalie duo for the time being.

Khudobin came to Chicago in the Max Domi trade on March 3. In 24 AHL games this season, he owns a 13-4-4 record, 2.89 goals-against average, and .899 save percentage. However, all of those games came with the Texas Stars as the veteran netminder has not appeared in a game since the trade.

The Chicago Blackhawks will be back in action Thursday when they visit the Nashville Predators. Puck drop is at 7 PM CT and the game will air on ESPN+/Hulu.
