Boston Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm out week-to-week

the 30-year-old defender has notched one goal and 18 assists for 19 points and 52 penalty minutes in 56 games with the Bruins this season.

Lindholm was acquired by Boston in 2022 from the Anaheim Ducks in a blockbuster trade deadline deal, bringing him to Boston for a first-round pick, two second-round picks, Urho Vaakanainen, and John Moore. One day after acquiring his services the Bruins signed the Swedish defender to an eight-year contract extension with a $6.5-million cap hit. He notched 53 points in 80 games during the 2022-23 campaign.

With Lindhlolm out, defenseman Mason Lohrei draws in on the second pairing. Lohrei has appeared in 27 games this season with the Bruins notching three goals and six pints in that frame. He has been a menace down in the American Hockey League with Providence racking up 13 points in 17 games. During his last call up to the NHL, Lohrei needed 20 stitches for a skate cut on the left quad that he received on Feb 3.

The Bruins currently sit second in the Atlantic Division with a 33-12-11 record to go with 77 points through 56 games. They trail one point behind the Florida Panthers and are nine points ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Boston is set to face off against Connor McDavid and the Oilers tonight in Edmonton.
