Bruins captain Zdeno Chara in 'no rush' to sign
What does the future hold for Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara? Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Bruins captain Zdeno Chara reportedly 'looking at all options,' but in 'no rush' to sign

Watching Zdeno Chara play anywhere else but Boston would be quite odd at this point in his career. Still, the 43-year-old doesn't appear to be committed to staying with the Bruins.

TSN's Pierre LeBrun recently spoke with Chara's agent, Matt Keator, who revealed that multiple teams have checked in on the veteran defenseman. He's "looking at all options" moving forward.

Despite that, though, The Boston Globe's Matt Porter also spoke with Keator, who reiterated that Chara is in no rush to sign a deal.

Chara has spent the last 14 seasons in Boston, winning a Stanley Cup in 2011. He tallied 14 points in 68 games last season while averaging 21:01 minutes of ice time per contest.

If Chara doesn't return, Boston's defense on the left side will be significantly weaker. Torey Krug left in free agency after signing a seven-year deal with the St. Louis Blues and no external replacements have been made to fill that hole.
