Bruins lose Jakub Zboril to torn ACL, Brandon Carlo to COVID-19 list

The Boston Bruins, like the rest of the NHL, are on (what they hope will be) a brief pause to their season. Even with no games on Boston's docket until next week, the B's received a double-dose of bad news on Tuesday morning.

Zboril was selected 13th overall by the Bruins in the 2015 NHL Entry draft and debuted with the team in a pair of November 2018 contests. The 24-year-old then played in 42 games a season ago, racking up 716 minutes of ice time, 63 hits, 35 shots on goal, 33 blocks and nine assists.

Through 10 games and 157 minutes on the ice this season, Zboril has recorded 24 hits, 13 shots on goal, 10 blocks and three assists.

Carlo was selected by the Bruins in the second round of the 2015 NHL Entry draft and made his professional debut in the 2016-2017 campaign. That season, Carlo played in all 82 games, recording a still career-high six goals, to go with 10 assists.

The 25-year-old set career-highs in assists and points at 15 and 19, respectively, during the 2019-2020 season, and he has posted 17 goals and 43 assists for 60 points over 348 career contests.
