Jansen Harkins Returns to Penguins Lineup Against Maple Leafs

After being recalled and re-assigned repeatedly by the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jansen Harkins will finally slot back into the lineup.

The Penguins announced their official roster for their contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Harkins will play on the third line in place of Vinnie Hinostroza.

Hinostroza doesn’t appear to be injured as he took part in warmups and is likely just a healthy scratch for the night.

The Penguins initially acquired Harkins via waiver claim during the preseason and he earned a spot on the opening night roster.

After four games with the Penguins, Harkins was dropped to the AHL for Radim Zohorna.

Now, the two will share the third line in Harkins’ return to the NHL lineup.

Harkins is back in the NHL thanks to a laundry list of injuries within the Penguins’ roster.

Set to appear in his fifth game of the season, Harkins is yet to record a point; he does have nine points in 11 games at the AHL level.
