Per CapFriendly, the LA Kings placed winger Austin Wagner on waivers on Thursday:

Wagner, 25, spent all of the 2021-22 season in the AHL with the Ontario Reign. In 55 games, he scored 13 goals and added nine assists for 22 points. He also led the Reign in penalty minutes with 107.

The Calgary native had spent the bulk of the prior three seasons with the LA Kings. In 171 NHL games, he has 22 goals and 40 points.

The move doesn’t come as a surprise as Wagner was expected to be in Ontario for the 2022-23 season. He is in the final year of his current contract and will be an arbitration-eligible Restricted Free Agent after the season.

This move is in addition to two other transactions made earlier this week during Kings’ training camp.

2022 draft pick Angus Booth was returned to the QMJHL on Monday:

Booth was a 4th round pick (116th overall) in this past year’s draft and will report back to Shawinigan Cataractes.

And Francesco Pinelli was returned to Kitchener of the OHL on Wednesday:

Pinelli was a 2nd round pick (42nd overall) in 2021 and is expected to be a key piece to the Kitchener Rangers again.

After the Wagner move, the Kings now have 54 players at training camp.
