NHL best bets: Four SOG targets for Tuesday Nov. 14

We split our shots on goal looks yesterday, but a bigger slate has brought about plenty of inviting matchups to take advantage of. We've got four names to know and three plays for Tuesday in the NHL.

1u: Filip Forsberg over 3.5 SOG & Nikolaj Ehlers over 2.5 SOG (+184 Fanatics)

Nashville should find plenty of shots here, Anaheim is allowing 34 shots per game on the road and handing out 4.0 power-play opportunities per game of late.

Filip Forsberg is the power play shot leader for Nashville, and he's over this total in five of six at home this season on 8.3 attempts per game.

We go back to Nikolaj Ehlers as his parlay partner in this one. Ehlers is now over this mark in three straight home games, piling up 13 SOG on 26 attempts. He's also over in each of the past two home games against the Devils. New Jersey is allowing 31.2 shots per game on the road.

I like both of these guys to score, by the way.

1u: Joe Pavelski over 2.5 SOG (+130 DK)

I'm surprised at some of the prices here on Dallas shot props given Arizona is allowing the seventh-most shots on goal per game, a ranking that holds relatively steady when they're on the road.

A big reason why Coyotes are seeing these shots against is their issues with penalties. Over the past 20 days, the Coyotes are handing out 4.1 power-play opportunities per game. That's all I need to see to load up Joe Pavelski, leading the Stars in power-play shots with 13 over his last 10 games.

At home, Pavelski is over this total in four of his last five games, averaging 3.6 SOG/game.

1u: Rickard Rakell over 2.5 SOG (-120 DK)

This is another price that feels more than fair and worth jumping on straight. Pittsburgh should be able to pummel Columbus with shots in this one. The Blue Jackets are allowing the fifth-most shots per game and 33.1/game at home.

Rakell has some terrific road volume, averaging 7.7 shot attempts per game in six games, turning that into 3.8 SOG per contest, going over four times.

Rakell has been relatively quiet recently against his shot prop, but I like that he has logged 10 shot attempts over his past two games. I like that to translate to more pucks on net here. Rakell is over 2.5 SOG in five of his past seven meetings against Columbus.
