NHL bets: Three plus-money straights for Thursday, March 7

There's much to like tonight in the NHL, and we've got a trio of plus-money prop straights to pocket ahead of the action.

1u: Brandon Hagel over 2.5 SOG (+112 FanDuel)

Brandon Hagel got bumped down to the second line last game, so rather than playing with a couple of offensive stars in Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point, he was skating with Anthony Cirelli and Mitchell Chaffee.

That shift led to 11 Hagel shot attempts, and if that volume continues in this role, Hagel's shots won't last at plus-money long.

I'm willing to jump on what I hope is the beginning of a shot run for the wing. Hagel has 3+ shots in five of his last seven at home and has loved seeing Calgary. He's gone over 2.5 shots in four of his last five vs. the Flames, averaging 3.4 SOG/game.

Calgary is allowing nearly 33 shots per game on the road over the past 45 days and rank as a favorable shot target for wings. There should be enough to go around here tonight.

.75u: Marco Rossi 3+ shots (+168 FD)

Minnesota should have no trouble generating shots tonight against an Arizona team allowing 32.6 shots per game at home over the past month and a half. The Wild typically pour it on when they see the Coyotes, logging 34+ shots in four straight meetings.

Off the belief of shots, I like the value here on Marco Rossi to hit three shots. Rossi is Minnesota's second-line center, and he leads the team in 5v5 shots in the last five road games. He's averaging 3.6 shots/game over his past five games and he's hit 3+ shots in five of his past six as the visitor.

He had three shots just a few weeks ago in Arizona, here's to him doing it again.

1u: Pierre Engvall point (+110 ESPN)

Did you catch that Dallas vs. San Jose game on Tuesday? The Stars third line of Wyatt Johnston, Logan Stankoven and Jamie Benn absolutely destroyed the Sharks to the tune of six goals, four of which came during 5v5.

I'm not saying the Islanders third line is as explosive offensively as that Dallas trio, but I am saying that I want to target what is very clearly some struggling depth on the Sharks.

Engvall has a point in two straight on the road and in two of the past three against San Jose. At this price, I'll dance.
