NHL prop bets for Thursday Nov. 2: These players are set to produce

Last night didn't go so well on my end on the ice, but it's a new day and a beautiful 12-game slate to parse through. I've done my rounds through the board and have settled on a quartet of names that stand out. What's come of it is three plus-money plays for Thursday's NHL action. Hop on in.

1u: Boone Jenner over 3.5 SOG (+130 DraftKings)

I was living under an Italian rock for two weeks, so I'm surprised to see that Tampa Bay is allowing the second-most shots on goal per game this season.

That's obviously something we're going to need to bet against with some Columbus SOG props, and Boone Jenner is most definitely the man to do it.

Over the past five games, Jenner is averaging 5.4 SOG/game on eight attempts per contest, going over this 3.5 line four times. That's elite volume and all I need to see to back the Blue Jackets's top-line center.

.5u: Matthew Poitras point (+125 Fanatics, +105 DK next best)

Here I am admitting how little I was following hockey the past few weeks, I was a bit confused as to who Matthew Poitras was. I'm brave enough to admit that ignorance, but what does it matter? Now I know, Poitras is Boston's top-line center, a young gun who has four points in his last five games and gets to skate next to David Pastrnak.

He has all that going for him and yet he's plus-money for a point? I'll gladly jump on that for a half-unit against Toronto. The Maple Leafs are middle-of-the-pack in goals allowed per game, but expected goalie Ilya Samsonov is allowing nearly four goals per start, making the Bruins a prime spot for some scoring.

1u: Cole Caufield over 3.5 SOG & Quinn Hughes over 2.5 SOG (+190 DK)

Montreal and Vancouver should have no issue finding some shots on goal against the Coyotes and Sharks respectively. Both opponents rank in the bottom of the league in shots allowed, and we turn to some of the shot leaders for these clubs.

Cole Caufield has 5+ SOG in three straight games and six of eight. He has 34 shot attempts(!) over his last three games, truly elite volume that should lend itself to a big outing here against an Arizona team skating on a back-to-back.

For those who have betting NHL daily, Quinn Hughes is surely on your radar. He's gone over his 2.5 SOG line in eight of nine games and seven straight, averaging 3.7 SOG/game. I don't see why he should slow down tonight, besides the cosmic energy that is me betting him for the first time. The Sharks are allowing the most shots per game this season and look set to be the league's worst team.
