Goulet's milestone marker came in the last minute of the first period, putting the Blackhawks up 2-1. At the time, Goulet became the 17th player in NHL history to score 500 goals.

Tuomo Ruutu , a 12-year NHL forward, was born on February 16, 1983. After being selected ninth overall by Chicago in the 2001 NHL Draft, Ruutu posted 108 points (48 goals, 60 assists) in 228 regular-season games with the Blackhawks. On Feb. 26, 2008, he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Andrew Ladd.
Darcy Rota, an 11-year NHL forward, was born on February 16, 1953. Rota scored 227 points (117 goals, 110 assists) in 448 regular-season games with the Blackhawks. He added five points (four goals, one assist) in 28 playoff games with Chicago.
