Penguins' Vinnie Hinostroza Left Game with Lower-Body Injury
USA TODAY Sports

Vinnie Hinostroza took an early exit from the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup in their loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Penguins forward was slow to get up and get off the ice following a hard collision into the boards.

Hinostroza attempted to return to the game, but departed after just one more shift; he finished with just 3:49 of total ice time.

The Penguins soon after made it official that Hinostroza would not return to the game and was dealing with a lower-body injury.

In the play that forced Hinostroza out of the contest, he was tripped by Hurricanes' Jack Drury causing him to slide hard into the wall.

The Penguins were awarded a power play opportunity, but they failed to score on the man advantage.

Head coach Mike Sullivan did not have any further updates following the game.

In the midst of a back-to-back situation, the Penguins could have multiple players be elevated off of injured reserve against the Vegas Golden Knights.

With Hinostroza’s injury, it’s also very possible he finds himself on that list.
