The Detroit Red Wings have officially begun to sell. On Sunday afternoon, the Red Wings announced they have traded defenseman Troy Stecher to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. Stecher, 27, has missed much of the 2021–22 season due to injury but has two points (one goal, one assist) in 16 games played with the Red Wings this year. In 346 career games with Detroit and the Vancouver Canucks, Stecher has 15 goals and 88 points. He appeared in 17 games with the Canucks during their run to the second round of the 2020 bubble playoffs.
