Suzdalev, Frank Among Capitals’ Second Wave Of Cuts; Hershey Bound

Fifteen fewer players will be on the ice when Washington Capitals training camp resumes Monday after the team’s second wave of roster cuts was announced Sunday.

Each of the 15 players, divided into three groups, are heading in the direction of the Hershey Bears, whose training camp begins on Monday.

Assigned directly to Hershey are forwards Pierrick Dube, Ethen Frank, Ryan Hofer, Henrik Rybinski, Alexander Suzdalev and Bogdan Trineyev, as well as goalies Garin Bjorklund and Mitchell Gibson.

Forward Riley Sutter and defenseman Chase Priskie have been placed on waivers for purposes of being loaned to Hershey.

Additionally, five defensemen have been released to Hershey training camp: Logan Day, Nick Leivermann, Jake Massie, Jon McDonald and Aaron Ness.

Hershey’s training camp roster is expected to be announced late Sunday.

With the cuts, the Capitals training camp roster sits at 35 players. They will return to the ice for practice on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s preseason matchup against the Boston Bruins.
