Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury: 'I would like to play at least another season'

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is third all-time in wins and sixth in saves, and he plans on adding to both those totals next season.

"I would like to play at least another season," Fleury told Canada's La Presse in an interview in French that was translated by his agent, Allan Walsh. "I decided that recently. ... I still love to play, I still have fun, my body is still holding up most of the time. ... So yes, another season and then we will see after."

Fleury, 37, reportedly contemplated retirement in 2021 when he was traded by the Vegas Golden Knights to the Chicago Blackhawks. He eventually joined Chicago and started 45 games for the team before he was traded in March to Minnesota

In seven starts with the Wild, Fleury has led the team to a 6-1 record with a 2.59 goals against average. Minnesota is third in the Central Division and have clinched a berth in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Fleury is currently set to become a free agent in the offseason for the first time in his NHL career. He's currently 34 wins behind Patrick Roy for second most all-time and 305 saves behind Glenn Hall for fifth.
