Over the past few days, David Reinbacher has arrived in Quebec. He began training with the Laval Rocket, and it quickly became clear (via Georges Laraque) that he would make his debut in Friday’s game.
The Montreal Canadiens have been one of the smaller teams for a long time, with a revolving door of journeymen and goons. Fortunately, they have taken a 180-degree turn and added a nice blend of size, skill and tenacity.
During Thursday night’s installment of The Sick Podcast with Tony Marinaro, he and his guest, former Montreal Canadiens tough guy and Quebec native, Georges Laraque touched on the added toughness in the Atlantic Division.
The Edmonton Oilers’ next game isn’t until Feb. 7 and with so much downtime, the burning question of “Are the Oilers going to trade for another defenceman?” will surely ramp up from now until then.
