Club make contact to sign Tottenham-owned player with 12 goal contributions this season

Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old striker is currently on at Dutch outfit Excelsior and he has eight goals and four assists in all competitions. The striker has impressed with his performances on loan and he is thought to be on the radar of AZ Alkmaar, as per Transferwatch.nl.

They are looking to sign the talented young striker as a replacement for Vangelis Pavlidis, who is expected to move on at the end of the season. Parrott needs regular game time at this stage of his career and joining AZ Alkmaar would be a wise decision for him.

Parrott cannot afford to sit on the bench every week at Tottenham at the North London club will not be able to provide him with regular opportunities. It makes sense for the young attacker to move on in search of regular playing time. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.

There have been rumours that Spurs might not sanction his departure in order to hold on to some of their homegrown players.

Parrott should look to focus on his development right now and force a move away from Tottenham if they cannot provide him with gametime assurances. The 22-year-old is young enough to get his career back on track with regular football and he could establish himself as a player for AZ Alkmaar with the right guidance.

The Tottenham striker is young enough to improve further and if he can continue to develop in the coming seasons, he will have plenty of opportunities to join a big club in the near future.
