Inter Milan Identify Bologna Defender As Alternative For High-Priced Torino & Italy Star

Inter Milan have reportedly turned their attention to Sam Beukema as they’re struggling to meet the asking price of Alessandro Buongiorno.

The Nerazzurri have been keeping tabs on the Italy international, but Torino are requesting a hefty figure.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Buongiorno’s asking price is closer to 40 million euros than 30M.

Therefore, Inter have now identified Beukema as an alternative for the Italian, reveals the Roman newspaper.

The Dutchman joined Bologna in the summer after spending the two previous campaigns with AZ Alkmaar.

The 25-year-old immediately established himself as a starter in Thiago Motta’s tactical system. He has been one of the club’s several revelations. The Italo-Brazilian coach appreciates the defender’s technical qualities in the build-up.

Beukema has made 28 appearances in all competitions for the Champions League hopefuls. He has thus far contributed with two goals and an assist this season.

Bologna signed the Dutch player for 9 million euros almost nine months ago. So they’ll be surely looking to make an important windfall if they part ways with the centre-back in the summer.

The source estimates the defender’s asking price at circa 20 million euros.
