Serie A side Lecce are set to sign Sweden international defender Gustaf Lagerbielke from Celtic.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the final details of the paperwork are being sorted out before he can fly in for a medical.

It is going to be a loan with option to buy at the end of the season.

Celtic should also contribute to paying a portion of his salary during the six months in Serie A.

The 23-year-old had also been linked with Genoa earlier in the transfer window.

Lagerbielke already has two senior caps for Sweden, in which he scored one goal, despite playing as a central defender.

Celtic only signed him from Elfsborg in August 2023 for €3.4m and he made nine competitive appearances for the Scottish team this season.

He had started the opening Champions League group game against Feyenoord, only to be sent off for two bookable offences after 63 minutes.

This will be the second Scottish transfer for Lecce, who purchased Ylber Ramadani from Aberdeen over the summer.
