AC Milan were interested in the idea of signing Guido Rodriguez from Real Betis but they have been forced to change their plans, according to a report.

Due to Tommaso Pobega’s injury, as well as Rade Krunic’s imminent departure, there have been suggestions that Milan are set to bring in at least one midfielder in January. We reported that Guido Rodriguez has ended up on their wish list and could arrive in a cut-price deal.

Rodriguez is one of the top names on Milan’s list of targets and the Real Betis man could arrive in a cut-price deal worth around €10m, seeing as his contract with the Spanish side will expire in the summer.

According to the latest update from Peppe Di Stefano for Sky (via Radio Rossonera), it was believed that the 29-year-old Rodriguez could be a player that Milan would target, especially in the event that Krunic were sold for example.

However, the Argentine has a fibula problem and underwent surgery a few days ago meaning that will be out for a few months, so Milan will either have to change their target or delay the negotiations and make him more of a target for next summer.
