A combination of injuries and suspensions means that AC Milan have a serious defensive problem ahead of the Serie A clash with Juventus this weekend.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the events of the derby defeat against Inter on Monday night will be felt into the Juventus game on Matchday 34 after both Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez received red cards.

As well as that, Fikayo Tomori picked up a yellow card which means that he is also suspended, and that is three of the usual defensive starters.

Those suspensions coupled with Pierre Kalulu and Simon Kjaer being injured create a serious problem for Stefano Pioli who has rarely been able to field his favoured defence this season.

It will be yet another makeshift backline in front of Mike Maignan, with Matteo Gabbia and Malick Thaiw expected to be the starting centre-backs.

Alessandro Florenzi will have to play on either the right or the left, and then one of Yunus Musah, naturally a midfielder, and Filippo Terracciano will be on the other flank.

After those options, Pioli would have to turn to the Primavera side for depth, meaning some unfamiliar names may be on the bench at the Allianz Stadium.
