Real Madrid fullback Dani Carvajal was delighted with victory over Real Mallorca.

Real Madrid won 1-0 thanks to Toni Rudiger's goal.

Cavajal later said: "Today, as in Vitoria, the set-piece gave us the win. It was a complicated game after the break for the Christmas holidays, but the win keeps us at the top of the table.

"It's hard to get back to winning ways, but in the end we managed to do it. Mallorca played a very good game tactically and very aggressively. These are key victories in LaLiga because it makes it three wins out of three.

"It's a great record. We finish (first-half of the season) as leaders and on 48 points in the first half of the season, which is a lot. Hopefully in the second half of the season we can match that.

"It (eleventh clean sheet) speaks highly of the defence and the whole team. With so many injuries, every team-mate comes out and gives their all. The clean sheets are a reflection of that."
