The San Antonio Brahmas ended up losing to the St. Louis Battlehawks, 18-15. It was a come-from-behind victory for the Battlehawks and the Brahmas certainly found themselves shocked at the end. Keep in mind, they were up 15-3 with 1:29 to go in the fourth quarter before St. Louis came storming back using the XFL's innovative extra-point and kickoff rules.
The Brahmas came out on the losing end in Week 1, but in terms of overall hype for the team, San Antonio certainly showed up in a big way.
It's being reported by local San Antonio news that the Brahmas drew a crowd of 24,245, which was nearly double the first-week attendance for all the other XFL home teams across the league.

Those who tuned into the game could certainly hear the crowd. Perhaps more impressive was the fact that there was clearly a contingent of Battlehawks fans in attendance. It's no surprise when the opposing fan base travels for NFL games, but for the XFL? Clearly, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's league has something to be excited about, and the city of San Antonio is a huge part of the XFL's plans moving forward.
Source tells me Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is expected to be in San Antonio on Sunday for the Brahmas XFL home opener and will announce to the crowd in attendance that the Alamodome is hosting this year's XFL championship game.
