This week, a former Detroit Pistons draft pick has found his next playing destination. According to BasketNews, Sekou Doumbouya has joined French basketball club Chorale Roanne Basket for the remainder of the current season.

The Lakers made a couple of moves on Monday in an effort to supplement their current bench. One of those was singing DJ Augustin to a deal, which resulted on DeAndre Jordan getting the boot from their roster.
L.A.’s interest in Gabriel was reported Monday, but the team had to choose between unloading either Doumbouya or fellow two-way player Mason Jones.
The Lakers have made a change to one of their two-way contract slots, signing former No. 15 pick Sekou Doumbouya.
The Los Angeles Lakers got blown out by the Chicago Bulls on Monday and will look to rebound tonight against the 6-8 Milwaukee Bucks ...
Two-way Lakers forward Sekou Doumbouya is set to be waived by LA as he recovers from a foot injury.
The 2021-22 season has not begun like the Los Angeles Lakers would have hoped. The team currently has a 5-5 record despite having one of the easiest starts to the season.
Doumbouya, 20, was the 15th overall pick in the 2019 draft and spent the first two years of his NBA career in Detroit. However, he struggled to score efficiently during his time with the Pistons.
The Rockets have waived third-year forward Sekou Doumbouya. The move was expected, as Houston had no plans to retain Doumbouya after it acquired him from the Nets earlier this week.
The move was necessary in order to make room on Houston’s 20-man preseason roster for Sekou Doumbouya, whom the club agreed to acquire from the Nets.
The Nets made a pair of trades on Tuesday night. Sekou Doumbouya (and his $3,613,680 salary) was sent to Houston along with an unprotected 2024 second-round pick in exchange for cash considerations ($110K), as Tim MacMahon of ESPN tweets.
In a series of moves that will ultimately save the organization at least $8 million in salary and luxury taxes, the Nets traded Sekou Doumbouya and a second round pick in 2004 to the Rockets, then dealt the rights to long-time stash Juan Pablo Vaulet to the Pacers in return for Edmond Sumner and a 2025 Heat second rounder.
Both the Rockets and Nets have trade exceptions that will allow them to take on a new player without sending one out in a deal.
Michael Porter Jr. is eligible to sign a contract extension with the Nuggets this offseason, and conversations seem to be going well between the two parties.
Jordan, 33, likely won't be linked with Detroit for long, as the Pistons want to buy him out. Aldridge, meanwhile, initially retired in April while with the Nets due to an irregular heartbeat.
Two years after being selected 15th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, it seems like Sekou Doumbouya has been largely written off by the Detroit Pistons. This makes no sense, as he has shown some bright flashes in his short career.
While Doumbouya’s contributions in 2019-20 were modest, he has flashed some promise during the preseason this month.
Because the Pistons will likely have to use some cap space to retain Christian Wood, it’s unlikely Detroit can get involved with making a team sweat a max offer sheet for a restricted free agent.
