The LA Kings signed a handful of free agent defenseman this summer. Kevin Connauton played in the Flyers organization during the 2022-23 season while Andreas Englund spent the bulk of the previous two seasons playing in Colorado for the Eagles and the Avalanche.
It was only of time before some major player movement happened, and the Blue Jackets, Kings and Flyers jumpstarted a potentially wild offseason with a whopper of a three-team trade Tuesday afternoon.
There’s not a ton of offensive upside to Connauton, but he does represent a big-bodied defenseman that the team can insert to try and stop some of the bleeding.
Nash, 32, hasn’t played in over two weeks and has zero points in 15 games so far this season.
Kevin Connauton has agreed to a one-year, two-way contract and will be assigned directly to the taxi squad should he clear waivers on Thursday.
